This is the first we see of Michael’s character, Weber. You can tell he's a bad guy, because he rejects all the chocolates that are left on the top layer, and goes straight for the one he wants from the layer beneath.

And here he is with his rather robotic girlfriend, Danielle.

He has both Stacey (Donal Donelly), who has the clue to the whereabouts of the loot Weber helped steal, and Stewart Sullivan (Joel Fabiani) from Department S, (who also claims to have the clue), at his disposal.

Following some negotiations, Weber first sends Stacey to fetch the clue, giving him a time limit.

When Stacey goes to collect it, Jason King (Peter Wyngarde) manages to take it from him. He and Annabelle Hurst (Rosemary Nicols) then try to puzzle it out.

Eventually, Weber gives up on Stacey, and sends Stewart to bring him the clue.

Weber spends some time trying to decipher it, just as Jason and Annabelle did.

He is first puzzled ...

... then agitated.

Eventually he concludes that the loot must be hidden in the cemetery where Baudelaire (from whose “Les Fleurs du Mal” the clue quote is taken) is buried.

The car is quite cramped.

They find Baudelaire’s tomb, but can’t get in.

Danielle is not just a pretty face. She finds a tomb nearby, with the three flowers on it.

Weber comes to have a look.

They go in and find the loot.

They have a moment of triumph.

Jason and Annabelle have also deciphered the clue; they arrive with the gendarmerie.

The criminals are arrested.
